Vantage

A net worth tracker that felt like a Bloomberg terminal built for normal people. Half the users canceled their financial advisor within three months.

The Challenge

The founders wanted a net worth tracker that aggregated bank accounts, investment portfolios, real estate and crypto, all in one dashboard that updated automatically. Every finance app they tried was either too simple or buried in features nobody asked for. The design had to match the ambition of the product.

The Approach

Connected to Plaid for bank and brokerage data, added manual entry for illiquid assets, and built a charting layer that showed net worth over time by category. Four asset class views, a goals module, a transaction feed, and a web app with a companion iOS app.

The design language was intentionally dense and data-rich, like a professional financial tool, but with clear hierarchy and modern aesthetics so it felt approachable to anyone.

The Outcome

Beta launched to 200 users. Within three months, half had canceled their financial advisor subscriptions, averaging $4,800 a year in fees. The founders are now in conversations with fintech funds about a seed round.

"We wanted something that felt like a Bloomberg terminal built for normal people. Nikola nailed that balance perfectly. Half our users canceled their financial advisor within three months because the dashboard gave them everything they needed." Priya S., Co-founder, Vantage
